Technical Administrator

EPG Ltd, now part of the STRI Group, is continuing to grow and now is great time to join this fast-paced organization. EPG is looking for a Technical Administrator to expand their water team and the role can be based at either the Warrington (Cheshire) or Bingley (West Yorkshire) office.

EPG is a leading Water and Environmental Design Consultancy delivering cost-effective, sustainable designs. We are proud of the fact that we have contributed to guidance on the CIRIA Report C753 The SuDS Manual, CIRIA Reports C680, C768 & C808. In addition, we have authored peer reviewed papers in journals and presented training courses in the UK and worldwide.
The successful candidate will provide technical administration support services to a design team of engineers and landscape architects working on design projects in sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), surface water management, flood risk assessment and structural waterproofing. You will be part of a small team of water and structural waterproofing designers within a wider team of consultants and engineers. Mentoring will be provided to further develop technical design (AutoCAD) and project support skills.

The role includes the following:

  • Ensure that new project documentation is created and well-maintained
  • Maintain technical library documentation and drawings
  • Ownership of tracking water and waterproofing jobs through to completion
  • Administer and maintain the team’s common data environment (CDE)
  • Contribute to production of QMS documentation and its continued maintenance
  • Provide administrational ad-hoc support to the designers, e.g. preparation of presentation material, printing, compilation of information and writing up reports
  • Effectively liaise with clients
  • Ensure that work management and design systems are maintained and updated
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the team and stakeholders
  • Maintain an understanding of current best practice in QMS and design processes
  • Prepare and edit new project documentation and drawings
  • Provide quality checks and assurance for outgoing reports and drawings
  • Liaise with designers to respond to project enquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Engage with project owners and designers on new project queries and quality assurance
  • Track, analyse and report on project performance metrics and KPIs to management team
  • Collaborate with wider team members and external professionals including clients, suppliers, contractors and other consultants and engineers

Requirements:

Essential

  • Develops and maintains effective internal and external relationships
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office products i.e. Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive
  • Knowledge and ability to understand technical documentation and use of basic drawing packages to edit documentation
  • Knowledge and ability in quality management systems (QMS) and company software to support designers
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to proactively self-manage own workload whilst maintaining effective relationships
  • Good report writing and presentation skills
  • Analytical and reporting skills
  • Experience in interrogating technical data systems, analysing and interpreting data and drawings
  • Enthusiasm to receive training and willingness to learn and develop
  • Interest in sustainability in the urban and water environment
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Previous work experience in a technical support role within a construction, engineering, scientific or utilities environment
  • Basic technical drawing skills using AutoCAD
  • Ability to show initiative and creativity in problem solving
  • Previous experience of customer management and providing customer services through verbal and electronic interfaces
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements (e.g. business process documentation, version control, quality assurance)
  • Commercial awareness and ability to interpret client requirements
