Environmental Monitoring Manager

As part of our ambitious growth plans, EPG Ltd, now part of the STRI Group, is looking for a new team member to expand our Geoenvironmental team.

Based at your home address with occasional travel to our Bingley, Warrington and Basildon offices , the successful candidate will hold a degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, Chemistry or other related subject and have 3 to 5 years experience in the geoenvironmental/ contaminated land sector.

Crucial to the role is experience in managing and undertaking Phase 1 and Phase 2 site investigation and working within the contaminated land regulatory framework in the UK and practical site investigation experience including proficiency in logging soils and experience of different drilling techniques, field tests and monitoring. The successful candidate will have excellent word processing and excel skills along with broad IT proficiency.

This role will provide practical development opportunities, elevating the candidate from a fieldwork focused position to one of project management and future line management, while maintaining a technical understanding of fieldwork and geoenvironmental consultancy.

It would be desirable for the candidate to possess basic logging and GIS skills, experience in processing data; including familiarity with AGS data format. They will also possess experience of a site-based role during remediation, earthworks and/or construction works and are a member of a professional body and working towards chartership with Geological Society, CIWEM, IES, or ICE. Commercial awareness and the ability to interpret client requirements would be advantageous. Mentoring will be provided to the successful candidate to further develop their detailed understanding and capabilities in the field of Geoenvironmental engineering.
